I doubt people who haven't lost a child can completely understand why 45's response to Biden's comments about Beau were so far beyond the pale. So let me explain it to you from my perspective.
It wasn't JUST the attempt to smear Hunter, Biden's living son. That was bad enough. But what was worse was the cruel dismissal of Beau's ENTIRE LIFE.
See, the thing parents who've lost children grieve over as much as anything is that their child's life will be forgotten. That a person who meant the world to US, their parents, means little or nothing to anyone else. It's a terrible, painful burden.
To have someone stand RIGHT NEXT TO YOU while you talk about the worth and value of a person who meant more to you than your own life and say, "Well, I don't know anything about him," is callous to the point of savagery.
I cannot fathom the insensitivity it takes for a person to say those words aloud to a grieving parent. And to imagine that a person who could do so has the slightest bit of native kindness or empathy is nothing but delusion.
This man doesn't care about anyone but himself. He certainly doesn't care about average Americans or have our best interests at heart. And nothing could have made that more clear than that moment in the debate. If you still support this man, please do me a favor and unfollow me.
P.S. I want to add that grieving parents are like recovering alcoholics. We never stop grieving, just like alcoholic never stop recovering.
