Feel like it& #39;s more accurate to describe the Proud Boys as "anticommunist" rather than "white supremacist" (these people idolize Pinochet after all.)

The issue with using that label is most Americans don& #39;t see anticommunist ideology as a type of unjustified, violent extremism. https://twitter.com/julito77/status/1311685753601228802">https://twitter.com/julito77/...
Obviously, there& #39;s tons of overlap between Proud Boy "Western Chauvinism" and white supremacy. but racism doesn& #39;t fully explain what these people are about.
this is what I was trying to get at - there& #39;s multiple right wing ideologies dovetailing here, and white supremacy is just a piece of it: https://twitter.com/snackvampire/status/1311699860458856448">https://twitter.com/snackvamp...
Good thread here on how anticommunism in the states feeds off of the racialization of leftist politics https://twitter.com/RoseCityAntifa/status/1311727251990421505?s=19">https://twitter.com/RoseCityA...
so I& #39;ve thought about this more and it& #39;s a "both" rather than "either/or" thing, which I didn& #39;t make clear initially
