Emo Trash on Connecticut Politics (A thread)

Settle in, there& #39;s some stuff really worth knowing about what& #39;s going on in Connecticut right now
Firstly, this is Jeff Desmarais. He is running for State Senate for District 32. I support many of his positions, particularly that of calling out and working to fight unofficial segregation in Connecticut

He& #39;s">https://www.desmaraisforct.com/platform&... also running to unseat a Q ANON sympathizer
I specifically would like to point out that while Eric Berthel did claim he supports the values of Q Anon and not their conspiracies, he added that "it has allowed for people who have previously felt disconnected from public policy & government to be part of the conversation.”

This is a Board of Selectmen Meeting from Southbury (a small CT town) where the Republican Members introduce a

Resolution Against Hatred and Bigotry

which Directly Targets anybody claiming there may be racism in Southbury http://drive.google.com/file/d/1k80mU7SCTva7Zw1e3pO1QBMqr2jYs4w1/view">https://drive.google.com/file/d/1k...
Southbury is notably around 95% white, which is reflected by the board. It& #39;s also worth noting that this resolution was a direct response to Democratic Selectman Mike Rosin asking the town to acknowledge a problem with racism based on convo& #39;s with non white Southbury Residents
The resolution also targets the Justice Southbury organization which holds weekly rally& #39;s in Southbury in support of the black lives matter movement. On a personal note I attend these routinely and have heard multiple black Southbury Residents recall racist experiences there
Next up we have Craig Miner. A Republican who was elected to State Senate for Northeastern CT in 2016 after serving Eight Terms in the State House. To this date his website does not have any info on where he stands regarding police brutality or racism. http://ctsenaterepublicans.com/about-miner/ ">https://ctsenaterepublicans.com/about-min...
In contrast his opponent has an extensive section on the Black Lives Matter movement & how it relates to CT

David">https://gronbach2020.com/platform-... Gronbach is running to unseat Craig Miner. While words are just words, Gronbach seems open to talk about racism in CT in a way Miner is not
"what keeps me up at night is the fact that if they treat somebody like me who’s white, has privilege, is elected & is Senate majority leader, how are they treating others who don’t have that same platform & don’t have the ability to speak up like I do?" - Bob Duff on Norwalk PD
A huge thank you and shout out to @connpost & @CTMirror for their important reporting on things going on in Connecticut right now. Stay informed y& #39;all!
