This photo was taken nearly a year ago, as I delivered Canada's national statement at the #OPCW Executive Council. I left immediately after with an unbearable pain in my shoulder that was spreading into my chest, and I didn't know then, would nearly take my life. /1...
When I look at the photo now, it feels strange to think of all that has happened since then. The support & love from my colleagues from Canada & so many other countries made me realise how truly lucky I am to have a job that connects souls from everywhere in friendship & love. /2
I owe a special thanks to my amazing boss @AmbLisaHelfand and my partner at @CanadaOPCW, @AnjaBeslic, who went above and beyond to support me and my family. /3
Today is my first day back at work. I've never felt more grateful for the opportunity to serve my country and be connected with such wonderful people from around the world. I look forward to the next time I have the honour of delivering a statement from behind that 🇨🇦 plate.
Thank you all! ❤️It's still a long road to full recovery, but this is a huge step. And every step is worth celebrating. So have a treat today with me. Happy Friday!
