In many cultures, grief is outward, it's wailing loudly, collapsing on the floor, you feel it out, scream it out, in full view. It's part of the processing. Western culture is so repressed
Because Twitter is Twitter& is combative for no reason over anything, let me clarify...this is literally my point. There are different ways to grieve. The repression comes from people criticising other people who grieve loudly,with the intimation that there is one "proper" mode
the way people are divorcing this from context - people criticising a woman openly grieving the loss of a child- and saying that I am criticising people who decide to grieve inward within cultures where grieving loudly is the norm 😭 I give up
