hey ngl I can’t believe Tommy publically stated his discomfort with people uploading stream highlights that have essentially the same content as his planned videos, and then the “Dream’s Mom” channel did it again anyways.
I’m a huge supporter of transformative works—obviously their video must’ve taken an incredible amount of effort—but I feel like it’d at least be polite to wait until the CC has posted their version.
Just because Dream’s okay with it, doesn’t mean everyone is.

The difference between making a highlight video out of Dream’s streams is that
1) he’d never do it himself
2) those highlights don’t take anything away from his own videos
Meanwhile Tommy’s content is mainly situational bits. If something funny happens on stream, and someone makes a separate highlight video of it, then that’s actively taking away from his viewership.

People will share or revisit the highlight, rather than the cc’s own video.
And it spoils the jokes, make the effort put into the humour and content less special, less unique.
I should’ve censored the channel name bc it’s not like they’re the only one still doing it, and I don’t mean it as anything more than a light criticism and solely my own opinion.

I have no place to speak for a cc, but it’s frustrating when a cc says something and gets dismissed.
ADDING ANOTHER DISCLAIMER—

to clarify that I don’t mean any hate, nor do I condone or encourage sending any hate to any channels.

At the end of the day, the only one who should be reaching out to these channels directly and asking for them to stop, is the cc themselves.
(Can I add a third disclaimer for my spelling mistakes, without detracting from the topic? I posted this very late into the night and didn’t expect it to blow up 💦)
Okay please don’t do something like this.

There’s a difference between being a malicious content thief uncaring for anything but clout, and someone just enjoying making content of their favourite creators.

(1/2)
There is a place for this sort of content. It should be done with permission yes, and by copyright law ccs have the right to take these sorts of videos down or claim the revenue. But it’s not inherently malicious.

Assuming the worst about someone isn’t helpful at all.

(2/3)
And most importantly: the only person who should take direct measures into contacting any channel for taking content down, is the original streamer themselves (or someone working for them).

It’s their decision.
