This is, once again, a historic low.

It has been every year Trump has set that number.

2021: 15,000
2020: 18,000
2019: 30,000
2018: 45,000

By comparison, former President Obama set the refugee ceiling at 110,000 his last year in office.
Interfaith @bridges_fl calls the move "shameful" and "un-American."

"The U.S. should lead by example and set a number that is worthy of the United States’ values of welcome,” said Ronnate Asirwatham, its director of policy and advocacy. https://twitter.com/bridges_fi/status/1311566075939745792

Related: It's not unusual for Christians to connect the Christmas story (or, rather, the Flight to Egypt that follows in the biblical account) to the refugee crisis.

I wrote about it at Christmas 2016: https://religionnews.com/2016/12/22/jesus-was-a-refugee-churches-connect-christmas-story-to-refugee-crisis/ https://twitter.com/RevJacquiLewis/status/1311663234462765057
Also, Trump says Biden wants to increase refugee resettlement by 700%.

Biden has indeed said he would raise that number to 125,000. For perspective: It was 110,000 in Obama's last year in office.

That's how far that number has dropped in the last four years.
Again, for perspective, It doesn't seem like that big of a drop in the maximum number of refugee admissions to go from 18,000 to 15,000.

Until you realize it went from 110,000

To 45,000

To 30,000

To 18,000

To 15,000.
