‘You didn’t have to do that you know. I could have handled him myself. And...I know you hate doing such a thing for me.’

WWX scoffs and chuckles and doesn’t say anything else, earning a confused stare from Wanyin. He knew that during such occasions WWX would not hesitate in teasing and taunting Wanyin and pushing his buttons in every single way possible.-7

JC bites his tongue a tad bit late, a torrent of curses flooding through his brain as he wished he could smite himself out of existence for blurting out the fucking truth
There is a slight gasp that escapes WWX which-12

JC doesn’t fail to hear, and he just about decides to scram away when he feels himself being pulled forcefully and crashes into someone, the warmth from the person’s body soothing JC in a way he thought not possible.
‘You feel that way for me?’
JC’s eyes flutter, his body-13

slowly seeping in the comfort as it eases and moulds into the familiar figure of WWX’s chest.
His thoughts crackle and holler at him to push Wuxian away and the rush of adrenaline accentuates his rumination, but something tells him that he shouldn’t flee, that he was at home-14

exactly where he needed to be for clarity.
‘Fucking hell Wei Ying, could you just not be so sappy-‘
‘Do you really feel that way for me?’
JC finally dares to look up at WY, his eyes tearing up as he blinks the saltiness away furiously.
‘Fuck you’ YES! AND WHAT ABOUT-‘

WY crashes his lips into JC’s, the shock causing JC to gape, allowing WY’s tongue to slither in as he licks across the bottom of JC’s lips before accessing his cavern, as though he wanted to use his tongue to memorise all of his features within.
JC recovers from his stupor,-16

reflectively shoving WY away as he starts coughing, not being prepared for what he had encountered.
‘Wei Ying, if this was some fucking sick joke to make me feel worst than I do, I’ll...’
JC just falters, tears falling down carelessly for he knew that was what WY was doing.-17

Humiliating him further after realising he actually felt that way for him. For payback for being used to protect him in a way WY abhorred.

But WY clicks his tongue, moving towards Wanyin in large strides as he envelops him in a hug again, his body shaking tremulously as-18

bouts of laughter shook through him.

‘I’m in love with you. Fucking hell Wanyin, you’re so fucking dense I can’t even take it anymore.’
JC stills in WY’s hold, not believing the words leaving him.
Crestfallen, he smiles sadly against WY’s chest before sighing.-19

‘You...you don’t have to lie for me Wuxian. It’s painful...it’s already fucking painful.’
A groan is emitted from WWX before he steps away from JC to lock his eyes with him, his hands still grasping the shoulders of the younger man.-20

‘Wanyin. I’m serious. I’m in love with you. I’ll _never_ joke about such a thing with you.’
JC tries to look away, but he gets drawn to the intense gaze of WY, his alluring grey eyes carrying depths of fire which just rouses a deeper blush to dust the cheeks of JC.
Despite-21

how much he searches through them, JC could not seem to place even a tinge of insincerity- the stare holding rings of truth so profound it rattles JC.
Could JC actually believe those words? Could he actually trust one of his deepest desires was actually turning into reality?-22

JC coughs again, trying to distract himself from the warmth emanating from the base of his stomach and chest.
Silence ensues, but it never does tread into the vicinity of awkwardness.
‘Why do you think I always prevent people from flirting with you? Why else would I always-23

be willing to act as your boyfriend? Why else would I glare at those who even entertain the thought of being with you?’
JC’s eyes widen as he stares as WY, rendered speechless with shock threading throughout him.-24

‘I...I thought it was due to my mother asking you to keep me safe.’
WY laughs , doubling over as his eyes tear up, before he shakes his head’
‘Of course l’ll always keep you safe, but fucking hell, actually thinking it’s always just to protect you? Wow.’

JC knew he should-25

be happy that his feelings had been confirmed to be reciprocated, but his embarrassment and anger of being mocked this way causes him to slap Wei Ying’s back forcefully, causing the latter to yelp before he rubs at it with a teasing smile still plastered across his face.-26

‘I...you...you’ve been...’

Wanyin’s face just reddens maddeningly before he just stops short with his words.

The smile slowly dissipates before Wuxian’s eyes soften.

‘I’m..sorry for not telling you the truth about my intentions. I just thought you were okay with it since-27

you didn’t always push me away or scream at me to never do it again. I’d never want to make you uncomfortable or unsafe Wanyin. Never.’
WY intertwines fingers with JC, before lifting one hand up and kissing his knuckle, as he then rests his forehead on JC’s.-28

‘I love you Wanyin. Always have. ‘

The dam breaks for JC as he starts crying again, wrecked with bouts of laughter before he captures Wuxian’s lips searingly, kissing him urgently yet gently, causing a slight whimper to escape from WY before he returns the kiss with as much-29

pulling JC closer and combing through his hair, both of them not wanting to forget this moment ever.
They are together ever since, not ever stopping with their bickering and fights, although nothing couldn’t be solved with the peppering of kisses and raw and honest-30

conversations with each other-the other always knowing that their soulmate had their best interests at heart.-31
