These two on the left are two of my cherished drawings. Not because of the greatness or skills they exhibit but because if it weren't for these two, the ones on the 2nd and 3rd wouldn't have existed.
Age isn't the focus here but even during the time of the creation of these, people around me thought it was bad/not good enough - "that it wouldn't amount to something. "

So I had to take it upon myself to support my hobby since no one would do it for me.
These 2 drawings didn't garner attention or support I would have wanted as someone who just started drawing and sadly it even became a source of ridicule from classmates, family and friends.

"Anybody could draw better than that. She even displayed it on the walls of her room🤣
Of course it hurt, I cried my eyes out the first few times. Thankfully my desire to draw was greater. (Aside from the fact that i wanted to slap on their face that I can improve) I fell in love with drawing.
I fell in love with creating worlds and characters, creating stories and communicating outside the use of words (as you might have known, I'm not good at talking to people through... words)
I also realized early on that the only way to get better at this, is to keep going. So I did. I practiced AND studied. I kept moving forward.
Drawing is a skill. Undeniably, talent exists in this world and it makes it easier for some people to produce high quality works. But it doesn't mean that because you were born "without obvious talent" you can't make good drawings. You can, as you can see exhibit A, yours truly.
You just have to keep moving forward. Keep moving forward in a pace that suits you.
Everybody's learning pace and improvement varies so don't be disheartened if someone you started drawing with "improved faster". Focus on your journey instead. Focus on your strengths and what you can improve on.
There might be a lot to work on at the start and it can get overwhelming but go at it step by step. As long as you're enjoying drawing and learning, no "bad drawing" is a failure.
If it didn't turn out the way it was in your head. It's okay. It happens. Study it and ask yourself "Why does this doesn't look good to me? Is there anything I can to change/improve on".
Anyway, I don't have any clear goal on where this thread would go but aaa if you're an artist that's just starting out, I'm cheering you on! It might be tough right now and for awhile but I hope you don't give up and have fun for a long time!!
Drawing has been a source of joy, comfort and peace for me and I hope that as you begin your creative journey, you get these as well~

People might tell you

"Well I can do better than that"

but did they ACTUALLY do it?

no, YOU DID.
Whatever you create was just a thought but now it has taken a form, isn't that amazing already?

Anyway as Jimin has said

"You nice, keep going!"
And if ever you're in need of some motivation, may I recommend one of my fave songs in the world.
