Nigeria 🇳🇬 defies explanation

We want a good nation, but we vote for bad leaders

We blame our rulers, but don’t take personal responsibility as followers

[THREAD] 👇🏽
We want a clean environment but litter the roads with our own refuse

We are a potentially a wealthy nation, but most of our people are poor, living on less than N470 a day
We spend most of our Natural budget taking care of 774 LGA Chairmen & deputies, 109 Senators, 36 Governors & deputies, 1 President & his Vice (and all their aides) while over 200 million people barely earn minimum wage
We’re a nation where most of
those that are meant to protect us are those who extort & rob us

A 50 year old police officer who can’t afford a car will always harass 25 year old boys who own theirs
A nation where its youth would rather raise 900 MILLION VOTES for 20 people on a fake reality show, eating 3 square meals, living in an air conditioned house,
..: with uninterrupted power to win N80m, while they’d use the same social media to insult those who put their lives at risk to run for elective office, while they stay absent at the polls
A nation where our youth would rather galvanize themselves to raise over $65000 (N30m) for someone evicted for bad behavior and celebrate that as something good
A nation who didn’t care that Laycon is Yoruba, Kiddwaya is Tiv from Benue state & Nengi is Bayelsan, but vote for those who could make a difference in their lives based on tribe & religion
A nation where our President defends the increase in fuel prices, comparing us to other oil producing countries, while conveniently forgetting their minimum wage is more than 10 times ours.
Nigeria 🇳🇬 is like a lady you fell in love with & were interested in marrying, you’d do anything for her, but she enjoys taunting you & teasing you with false hope, while she clearly has no intention of settling down with you ... after a while, you take the hint & you stop trying
You might probably never stop loving her, but you don’t want someone constantly breaking your heart, so you settle down with a lady of American or Canadian descent 🤣
Happy 60th - In - Dependence Day

When the people are tired, we’ll have a #NewNigeria

So help us God
