The Covid-19 pandemic has vividly highlighted how much society depends on essential workers. Yesterday, at the National Training Centre, FLON handed over appreciation care packs to contact tracers on behalf of President @hagegeingob to recognize and value their work.

As contact tracers are on the frontline of trauma and are constantly exposed to trauma, FLON encourages them to prioritize self-care and debriefing. She offered debriefing to essential workers to prevent compassion fatigue and secondary trauma.
“Self-care is as essential to the essential worker as essential workers have been to the pandemic,” FLON stated. She encouraged the public to take care of their health in order to take care of the health of essential workers.
Dr. Esther Muinjangue, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services, cautioned the nation that COVID-19 will still be with us and reiterated the importance of debriefing and self-care management.
Ms. Ndilimeke Mutikisha, the leader of the National COVID-19 contact tracers, expressed her profound gratitude to the President and FLON. She commended the selfless work of the contact tracers who identified 24 645 contacts countrywide so far.
