I think it says a lot about common understandings of autism that we generally know that autistic people are prone to in depth and detailed analysis but haven't really thought about what happens when that analysis is turned inwards toward the self
I don't think we have examined the autistic sense of self very much. It seems to be a non-essential question to most researchers? Or at least it's understood in ways that take the differences as trivial when compared to a NT sense of self
I think this affects our sense of gender, sexuality, relationships, social structure etc. and how we relate to it as individuals
I've probably had existential crises every year of my life since I was 12
