The COVID19Japan tracker from
@reustle we've probably all used is an open source project! And it has quite a large number of open issues on its Repo. It uses Javascript across the stack. Take a look!

my own project Denki Carbon is focused on bringing open access to Japanese electricity carbon data! I have a React Education Website and an Open API in Python and theres a bunch of issues ready to be worked on!
