🗳️ My 2020 Early Voting Experience in Carver County, Minnesota, a thread:
I requested an absentee ballot online in August. I got it in the mail last week. I filled it out, following the enclosed instructions, and put my ballot in the required envelopes...
I brought the envelope with my ballot in person to the local government center yesterday, about 4pm. There was a short line outside the door - about 4 people in front of me, some with envelopes like me and others didn't have anything. Everyone was friendly...
The government center clerks brought out clipboards with forms, so the people without envelopes could request a ballot before they walked in the building. Then, as spacing allowed, we were permitted to walk into the building and up to the designated voting window inside.
Once inside, those who had ballot request forms on the clipboards (that they filled out in line) turned them in at the window and were given ballots. They were then sent to voting stations, spread out a safe distance, with privacy,to vote/mark their ballot.
I just had to hand the clerk at the window my completed ballot in the envelope. She opened it and two people behind the counter signed my sealed smaller envelope (with my ballot inside) after double checking my info on the smaller envelope, to certify it would be counted.
I was done. Easy peasy. The process for me took about 30 minutes. Everyone friendly, well spaced, masked.
There was a woman in front of me who walked in without a completed ballot, who "messed up" when voting and asked for another ballot. The clerk had her come back to the window, took her incorrect ballot, and quickly issued her another one, so her vote would count.
All the government center employees were friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful. I didn't feel threatened or intimidated.

Please, vote this year. 🗳️
