You really can& #39;t simplify Stevie and Lindsey& #39;s relationship down to "he made fun of her so she fired him! What a petty bitch!" Listen, I love them both. I hate them both. As much as I ship, they have a deeply dysfunctional relationship and she felt they needed to be apart.
It sounds like she does regret it to some degree which fucking sucks. But don& #39;t forget she told FM "him or me". While that sounds like an empty, petty threat I do believe she was ready to walk. There was really no comprise here. Both stay or one leaves.
Interesting note about old people and relationships based on science-y shit -- older people are way more likely to cut off relationships that are not nurturing them. They know they have limited time and they are done with your shit.
In the case of long relationships they have decades of data telling them how your dumb ass will never change. Again, the dumbass here being both Stevie and Lindsey and I bet they both realize that to some degree.
And what if it wasn& #39;t the stress? What if he hadn& #39;t have been fired and then had a heart attack anyway? On the road under maybe worse circumstances? He may not have survived.
Mick made the call of who left because Stevie is his cash cow. This all sucks and makes me sad, but it sounds like Stevie had been unhappy for a long long time and did this for -- probably both of their well-being.
And PLEASE come off this bullshit about this causing his heart attack. The dude was pushing 70 and had a family history with both his father and brother dying of heart disease. Maybe it impacted the timing but honestly he was a ticking time bomb.
I& #39;ve long said (only partly) joking that I would love to teach a relationship class about bn. It would be pretty fucking boring if the conclusion were that he made fun of her and that& #39;s the end. It& #39;s not that straightforward.
