If you’ve ever wondered what running for office is like: these pictures pretty much sum it up.

Our *final* fundraising deadline is tonight — so here I am, nearing on my sixth hour of fundraising call time in this photo, 3 coffees in, exhausted: and it was only 2pm.

[A THREAD]
I’ve done countless hours of fundraising call time every single day for almost a year now.

And honestly, it’s not my favorite part about running for office. Not even close.

When I’m doing call time, there’s always a part of me that asks, “What are you doing here?”

But here I am at almost 8pm now: still calling people, still stressed.

Because this is what we have to do to win.

This is what we have to do to be able to send mail to voters, run digital ads, purchase street & yard signs, and pay our organizers a living wage.

Sometimes, this is what it’s like to run for office: sitting in your sweatpants, overwhelmed, yet desperately asking people for money.

It’s definitely not glamorous (as you can see, I can’t believe I’m actually posting these pictures).

But I’m running because I care.

I’m running because I believe in our ability to transform District 7 & Phoenix for the better — together.

I’m tired, but I’ll keep working hard to create a better future. I hope you will too.
