alright so I wanna address some tweets by @/bigboobhaver otherwise known as imogen.

recently vae tweeted something rather troubling.

she left the toh fandom as it was too "problematic" however it doesn't feel that simple.

this is rather suspicious for multiple reasons, and also just overall toxic and performative.

when you make a joke like this, you are escaping the issue, as if afraid of it or the effects it could have if you were exposed as problematic. for example, if some,

funny joke slipped out. at first I believed I was just reaching at this point, but then i asked and it turns out multiple people agree. so let's address it.

again, this is problematic coming from yt people because:
bipoc can leave the fandom because they feel unsafe with the racism.
yt people cannot for the reason of racism as yt people are the cause and they are not the victims of the issue.

if you're in pain from seeing people you trusted highly being exposed as racist, that's fine. take a break, log out for a while, don't just ditch the fandom like that because you're afraid of people getting exposed as racist.

i was recently told imogen is mixed.
ill let you guys take this however you'd like, im still deciding my standpoint on this and discussing this with someone who has helped me with this thread.
