Brian Harold May (July 19, 1947) is a British musician, composer, activist and astrophysicist. He is known for being a guitarist, songwriter, vocalist, and sometimes keyboardist for the British band Queen.
First, let's talk about his musical talent. Brian May, guitarist for Queen, wrote songs like for example, '39 of "A Night at the Opera" https://open.spotify.com/track/6aNP9GlBi3VHPXl7w3Qjr9?si=UrjDFUs9QpyPHNZXMVnxcQ
This song talks about a person who leaves a year, returns home and 100 years have passed, his entire family has already aged. It's based on the theory of relativity.
You also probably know "We Will Rock You". The iconic double hit on the floor and the applause was written by the guitarist with the idea that the public participate in the shows. Until that moment, going to a show was to be silent and admire the band.
However Brian wanted people to participate and created this iconic song. https://open.spotify.com/track/4pbJqGIASGPr0ZpGpnWkDn?si=DddadSPsQEG1bc5CQ_wWiw
He also wrote "Keep Yourself Alive" the first song in Queen's history. Rolling Stones magazine rated it the 31st song for best guitar https://open.spotify.com/track/3N25RDKNufh7Sz8v7fwtUP?si=WjvwFpHhTkuKVdx9JVBy-w
If I name all the songs that Brian wrote the thread would be very long, but he also wrote "The Show Must Go On", "Flash", "Tie Your Mother Down", "Fat Bottomed Girls" among many others for Queen. I recommend listening to them, they are on Spotify and YouTube :)
Brian also has a very large (and very underrated) solo career. He started as a soloist in 1983, when Queen was on break from concerts. His solo career is long, but his first work was the EP "Star Fleet Project". hhttps://g.co/kgs/v7ww15
