2) “study identified 11 topics of misinformation, including various conspiracy theories, like one that emerged in Jan suggesting pandemic was manufactured by Democrats to coincide with Mr. Trump’s impeachment trial, & another to people who ate bat soup”. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/30/us/politics/trump-coronavirus-misinformation.html">https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/3...
3) “Only 16.4% of the misinformation conversation was “fact- checking”in nature, suggesting that the majority of COVID misinformation is conveyed by the media without question or correction” https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="📌" title="Reißzwecke" aria-label="Emoji: Reißzwecke">
4) “conspiracy theories, when lumped together, accounted for 46 percent of the misinformation mentions. Another emerged in early April suggesting that Dr. Fauci, was exaggerating deaths or was a beneficiary of pharmaceutical company efforts to find treatments and vaccines.”
5) list of conspiracy topics. All pretty familiar batship crazy stuff. Poor Fauci.
6) Who remembers these?!?! Ugh.
7) And don’t forget these events.
8) Bottomline: this is so infuriating. We knew Trump was a leading conveyer of misinfo, but now shown on such a grand scale.

That& #39;s why we at Federation of American Scientists @FAScientists pulled together hundreds of scientists to fight misinformation. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/a-grassroots-effort-to-fight-misinformation-during-the-pandemic/">https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/a...
9) As an epidemiologist, so many of these Trump misinfo on #COVID19 have been so dangerous. There are even note not listed in the 11 conspiracies. There are also outright falsehoods like this the story didn’t include.
10) 200,000 deaths -so many could have been avoided with good info so people could stay safe. So shameful. Simply didn’t have to be this way.
12) “There is a science of rumors. It’s when there is uncertainty and fear,” said Dr. @drJoshS. “In the absence of treatments or vaccines, honest and consistent messaging is essential.” — we need to listen to scientists not Trump. Media needs to stop covering them as equal advice
