From Bill Russell to Lebron James, the NBA Finals has produced some legendary performances.

Here are 5 of my favorite mind-blowing NBA Finals facts.

Time for a thread 👇👇👇
1) Magic Johnson, one of the best point guards of all time, cemented his legacy throughout his NBA Finals career.

Magic is the only player in NBA history to average 12+ assists per game in the NBA Finals.

The craziest part?

He did it 6 times.
2) Robert Horry, one of the best role players ever, is the only player in NBA history to win multiple championships with 3 different teams.

Rockets – 2 (’94, ’95)
Lakers – 3 (’00, ’01, ’02)
Spurs – 2 (’05, ’07)

His teammates?

Hakeem Olajuwon, Kobe & Shaq, and Tim Duncan.
3) Michael Jordan, while being guarded by Bryon Russell, hit the game winning shot at the buzzer in Game 1 of the '97 NBA Finals.

Two weeks later, Jordan would win his 5th NBA Championship.

In the 23 years since, not a single NBA Finals game has ended with a buzzer-beater.
4) When Cleveland won in 2016, Lebron James was dominant.

Lebron finished the series leading all players on both teams in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.

He is the only player in NBA history to lead all players in all five categories for an entire playoff series.
5) Hakeem Olajuwon won his first NBA Championship in 1994 but due to his Muslim faith, which forbids men from wearing gold, he had to auction off his championship ring.

Luckily, Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets would repeat the following year.

This time, his ring was platinum.
6) đź’Ą Bonus đź’Ą

Despite public perception that NBA ratings have declined, in-game NBA Finals advertisement revenue has been on a steady climb.

Depending on the game, a 30-second ad costs about $700K - a 55% increase from 2014.

For context, the Super Bowl commands ~$5.25M.
