For those looking to contribute to #Hacktoberfest this year:

Please don't submit PRs that are literally a single character change and just intended to bump your stats.

Maintainers *do* want you to contribute! However, tiny changes that are only a change in the sense of "something is different but not meaningfully better" only add to the burden of maintenance.

If you want ideas on things maintainers generally appreciate:

- add a test
- translate documentation
- triage an open issue and submit a PR for it
- look at other repos in the org and see if there's improvements that can be made there
- ask a maintainer what could be helpful
