it rubs me the wrong way when black kids say they wouldn’t “fit in” at an hbcu
the replies to this clearly show that y’all have terrible judgement and lack research skills. it doesn’t take much to find out the different flavors an hbcu has to offer. y’all are allowing the failed attempts with the people in your hometown to stop you from attending a school..
as if EVERY black person from around the world is the exact same! there’s a clear insecurity about your identity within the black community if you feel like you’ll never fit in within your own race. basing that off of your experience in your hometown only reinforces that
back home i didn’t even fit in with anybody at all but i knew there’s more people out there with different mindsets than the people from my city. it’s all about perspective and not making generalizations about people
and if you fail to ask questions about hbcu’s to people that attend/graduated then ofc you’ll know nothing about the diversity
