i have seen a lot of misinformation going around about ONEUS and ONEWE today. please read this thread before you make a conclusion of this situation.

before i start, yes i am desi, and i don’t see anything wrong with the video.

firstly, @YoaLEpypMwOLXCw posted the video that was uploaded 2 years ago calling them racist, which is 100% not true and is just someone trying to start things up for no reason.

now, if you actually look at the video, yes you can see the hand gestures but these aren’t only used by desis, they’re also common in korea. they’re taught these at korean schools also (with buddhism). AND they’re common yoga/meditation poses.

think about it, why would they be mocking desis with an english song

remember how another group (i wont mention which because there is no point) was also hit with a lot of criticism after doing these same gestures but it was quickly cleared up that these were also common in korea.

The hand joining gesture is very common in numerous asian cultures and religious practices. It was NEVER an exclusive desi thing, cultures are often derived/inspired/based off of each other hence they often have things in common’
