When Catherine was a child, scouts didn& #39;t accept memberships for girls, but Catherine was part of the female equivalent at the time- Brownies. (The Queen, Princess Margret & Princess Anne were also members)
Kate volunteered for scouts several times supporting young children with their activities. There& #39;s frequently waitlists due to not enough adult volunteers.Assistant Director said "reason we value the Duchess& #39; support is that even though she is very busy she helps out when she can"
Kate volunteered privately and occasionally publicly to encourage others. For definitely over a year at the least, it was known she privately volunteered when living in Anglesey.
She has revealed she hopes George, Charlotte & Louis join scouts one day. Her particular interests during her visits were the life skills that you don& #39;t learn in school such as first aid, sign language & classic tent making.
Within a year of people learning Kate had joined the Scouts volunteering, more than 2,800 new adult volunteers have joined up - the second biggest rise since 1986.
The Annual Queen& #39;s Scouts award is the highest honour a scout can receive & has been going for 80 years. Kate has began to deliver these awards as part of her association with The Scouts.
