I often think of Wednesday as the slowest day on Twitter, so today I'm going to be doing a thread sharing some family photos. Please feel free to add your own photos in the comments! One of my favorite things from this summer was finding out more about my 4th great grandmother

My 4th great grandmother was the original owner of this purportedly haunted bell. I became the 7th generation to own it this summer. So far nothing spooky!
I also got to borrow some letters that belonged to my great great grandfather's sister, and there were some from (4th great) Grandma Hattie

Another thing I did this summer was try (again!) to find my great grandfather's grave. All I had to go on was this photo taken before he passed, but after his 2nd wife was gone, and some recollections of family members that he was somewhere in x cemetery.
I started walking around the cemetery again (it's rather large) and checking any stone that looked similar to the photo I had. Finally I found it in the condition the left photo shows. We went back and cleaned it!
Another ancestor I hope to locate someday is my 5th great grandfather, Peleg. All I have to go on is this plaque and a small one near it saying he was also buried in town. His wife is believed to be buried in New Jersey, so so far she also remains elusive.
While I'm on the subject of Peleg's family, one day a couple of years ago I went and got lot information and cleaned some of his family's stones. The lot includes my 4th great grandfather and his brother, along with a few other family members.
Speaking of my 4th great grandfather, this was when my great grandmother got to see his stone for the first time (that would make him her great grandfather.) He served in the war of 1812, and was reported missing in 1814, but returned home months later.
I'll keep this going by continuing the Tupper line of descent. This was my ggg grandfather. He passed soon after my gg grandfather was born, so my g grandmother never knew him. He would've been 98 when she was born, but she did remember seeing a photo of him.
My 3rd great grandfather married twice. My 3rd great grandmother, Cordelia, was Ruth's sister. So his children from both were not only half siblings, but first cousins as well. This is by far not the worst thing I have found

Cordelia and Ruth's parents were not that difficult to find. It was the matter of proving Lucy's parents. Finally someone helped me and located her info under a misspelled index. I finally knew for sure who her parents were and that leads to the next post...
The search was on to locate where Lucy's father was. I stopped and asked for directions & it happened to be on the person that I was talking to's property. & she was related! It then took calling another cousin to find it as it was so far out of the way.
I've veered off course a bit here, but to get back to the Tupper family, this photo of my great great grandfather, Veazie, was found in my great grandmother's house when she moved. It was a surprising find, as I had never seen any photos of him as a child.
