"I love what you do but, I can't describe it to anyone..."

Heard this from customers?

You likely have a problem with your brand messaging. A misalignment between what you're saying and what is being heard.

Here's how to fix it 👇
To start we need to think of this problem in three stages. All of which have a domino effect on each other.

1. Internal Alignment
2. External Messaging
3. Brand Growth (Empowering Consumers)

Let's begin with internal alignment.
1. Internal Alignment

Is everyone on the same page?

You need everyone in your biz to know exactly what the mission, attributes, voice and goals are for the company.

And if it's just you, you need these to stay focused.

Without it, you won't build trust.
2. External Messaging

Is the voice/look/feel of your brand consistent across all touchpoints?

Consistency and clear messaging builds trust with your audience.

Review your copy/visuals all together and see if you can spot a theme. (cont.)
If you can't see a clear theme tieing them all together, it's time to look at your identity again.

Because if you can't see a pattern, it's likely your audience won't either.

Leading to confusion and feedback like the quote at the start of the thread.
3. Brand Growth (Empowering Customers)

Once you've aligned your internal and external messaging, start giving people the tools to share your brand.

Their WoM reviews go a long way. So, make sure your customers can easily share and explain what you do.
With all of these three sections aligned you will have:

> Clarity on your brand's next step in every situation.
> Focus on what to create and how to create it.
> Consistent voice, look and feel for your brand.
> Clear messages so people can share your brand.
