Thread - Why Mason Greenwood is the greatest teenage forward in world football
Retweets and follows appreciated

Some of the names that are thrown around the most when it comes to this argument, are Mason Greenwood (18), Ansu Fati (17) & Gabriel Martinelli (19), so I'll be using these three players in comparison with each other, to come to an unbiased conclusion.
Just a disclaimer - I think all three are brilliant prospects, and the aim of this is not to put down any of the three, rather to highlight their strengths, and argue my opinion, that Greenwood is the best of the three.
Of course, stats don't tell the whole story, and as a United fan I've tried to eliminate all possible bias from this thread, so I've attached a clip of a goal or assist from Mason, on each of the following tweets, so you can see his quality for yourself.
Greenwood had the lowest (best) minutes per goal ratio of the three, in league competitions last season -
Greenwood : 10 goals in 1311 minutes - 131 M/G
Ansu Fati : 7 goals in 1024 minutes - 146 M/G
Martinelli : 3 goals in 656 minutes - 218 M/G

Ansu Fati : 7 goals in 1024 minutes - 146 M/G
Martinelli : 3 goals in 656 minutes - 218 M/G
Greenwood has also proved to be the most accurate in front of the goal with the highest statistical shot accuracy (shots / shots on target) of any player in Europe -
Greenwood - 62.5%
Kane - 59.7%
Aguero - 51.9%
Martinelli - 50.0%
Ansu Fati - 36.4%

Kane - 59.7%
Aguero - 51.9%
Martinelli - 50.0%
Ansu Fati - 36.4%
A large part of Greenwood's game, and what makes him so lethal, is his equal ability on both feet. He's just as powerful, and accurate on his left, as he is on his right. This makes it hard for the defender to predict what Mason will do, and so harder to stop him from scoring.
An underrated aspect of Greenwoods game, is his ability to dribble effectively, and hold onto the ball under pressure. Mason boasts the worlds highest dribble success rate -
Greenwood - 86.3%
Messi - 62.0%
Neymar - 62.0%
Sancho - 55.0%
Ansu Fati - 41.1%
Martinelli - 27.2%
Greenwood - 86.3%
Messi - 62.0%
Neymar - 62.0%
Sancho - 55.0%
Ansu Fati - 41.1%
Martinelli - 27.2%
Greenwood is a longshot specialist, having scored the most goals from outside of the box, in the premier league last season, beating out the likes of De Bruyne, Fernandes, Pogba, with 4 goals scored from outside of the box, reminiscent of a young Gareth Bale.
One of the most important attributes in the modern game is pace; an attribute Greenwood excels in; Greenwood recorded Europe's highest top speed last season -
Greenwood - 37.6 km/h
Adama Traore - 36.6 km/h
Mbappe - 36.0 km/h
Martinelli - 34.11 km/h
Ansu Fati - 33.8 km/h

Mbappe - 36.0 km/h
Martinelli - 34.11 km/h
Ansu Fati - 33.8 km/h
Greenwood is also a brilliant passer and playmaker, one of his skills that's often overlooked.

So in conclusion, all three are great players, and are on track to dominate Europe in the coming years, but when you look at the hard facts, on top of the eye test, it's clear Greenwood is a cut above. Would love to hear your thoughts on this
