How do hate Canadian media's framing of COVID and "young people". Let me count the ways...
1. "The majority of new cases are in people under 40."

"Under 40" is a totally random demographic with no inherent significance. The majority of cases are also in people under 50, under 60 and under 70.
2. "The message isn't getting through to young people. They're still going out and socializing!"

Governments across this country have had bars, restaurants, movies theatres and other social venues open for months! How ever did folks get the idea that it's okay to socialize?
2b. Our governments also have no apparent problem with younger people spending time bars, restaurants, and movie theatres if they're there to WORK.

Kids, you have a responsibility to public health...unless there's money involved!
3. "Young people don't understand what we're saying to them!"

How do you know? Has there been any real investigation into why there might be an uptick in cases amongst younger folks? Like, why are we assuming folks under 40 suddenly don't understand masks and handwashing?
In conclusion, maybe folks under 40 aren't irresponsible, self-centred party vectors of disease.

Maybe they're a group of people who were told it was safe to go back to work and school during a pandemic, and now we're mad at them for not being magically immune to COVID.
