If you don’t understand the construction of whiteness in this country, the fact that the pr**d b*ys are white suprematists might be confusing. Your confusion doesn’t make it less of a fact.

It’s not something you’d naturally know. It’s an American history that’s not taught in grade school. I had to do a lot of reading – and then some serious looking at this place – to really get it. It’s worth doing (necessary!) because it explains why this country is the way it is.

The book that helped me start to get it was “How The Irish Became White“, which I highly recommend. There are many, many others, of course – how about posting the one that got through to you in this thread? #neverstoplearning
