I understand believing things will work out. however, belief and facts aren’t the same kind of information.

I believe a lot of us aren’t gonna make it. I believe those of us who’ll make it will have a LOT to carry and work through. I believe community care will create the safety that settler colonialism will never give us. I also believe this shit is about to be a bigger mess.

the facts: the fascism was in motion before this motherfucker even announced his candidacy. between birtherism and the already existing xenophobia and anti immigrant sentiment/ policies (hi, 44!) we were on our way back in 2012.

the facts: this sentient day glow booger invited the goddamn tiki torch troubadours to hang on until he gives them a signal. FUCK believing we can vote him out. if we do, he’s prepped for a coup. if he concedes, HIS BASE IS STILL LOOKING TO FUCK SHIT UP.

which means we cannot actually be covered by a vote UNLESS our local lawmakers are ready to turn shit entirely on its ear to PROTECT citizens. many of them are not. those who are, like Attica Locke, are being hindered at every turn.

the system cannot protect us or safe us. we can protect ourselves and one another. we can protect from houselesseness, hunger, from IPV, and even white vigilante violence if we actually plan.
voting for “safety” is tantamount to giving away your ability to do so.

settler colonialism is codependency. capitalism is codependency. we cannot be saved or protected by leaving it up to people whose daily lives do not actually touch ours.

these ppl make policies and decide all kinds of shit without a second thought. our lives and experiences are theoretical to them. there’s no actual connection. what would “national” (nation states shouldn’t exist) leadership look like, if these fuckers *actually* worked for us?

asking because I really cannot believe the woman who creates beautiful film and tv cannot use her IMAGINATION to envision another way.
