THREAD - Why Mason Mount is simply not Chelsea level.

I will try to not hate on him so much in this thread and try to provide some balanced critique on him.

LIKES AND RTs APPRECIATED
Mason Mount is a rather 'versatile' footballer since he can play 3 positions as an 8, 10 or on the wing.

there are many different attributes that are needed from a player when they play in these respective positions.
The attributes I look for in players who play around the same position is

Passing, dribbling, how well they progress play, crossing, shooting and goal scoring
Mount is an extremely poor dribbler with a low number of dribbles attempted(38 percentile) and at a very average rate(62 percentile) with respect to his position. Ball control in tight spaces, and getting past players is an extremely important skill for his position.
His passing, and more importantly creativity is another area where he is exceedingly average or poor, depending on your standards, at. He is below a 50 percentile on all passing and creativity metrics other than pass completion rate, which doesnt show much by itself.
Passing ability is one of the, or the most important ability any midfielder can have and mount is severely lacking. Therefore in the football pitch he cannot create space for himself with his dribbling, nor for others with his passing. This is frankly horrific.
Crossing is another area where advanced midfielders could exceed in. Unfortunately Mount is poor at it as well. He attempts around a cross a game with 25% success rate so basically you'll see him cross successfully once in 4 games. Eye test says hes a poor crosses as well.
Another thing I must mention is his lack of a through ball. This is an important weapon many players in his position have in their locker, but mount only averages .1(you read that right) per game. This is one of the reasons why he had only 1 open play assist for a whole season.
Shooting and goal scoring - He's really nothing special on this end as well. A bang average goal scorer who had a purple patch at the start of the season and only scored 3 goals in the last 30 games. Even more concerning is his shot selection which is just awful.
One thing he is good at, but I won't give him credit for, is his pressing ability. Why won't I give him credit? Its very simple. Once someone spends all their energy pressing and not really contributing anywhere else on the pitch, you are bound to press well.
For example - If I am lampard, and I tell CHO, and Puli, "guys, you dont have to dribble,or create any chances, just spend all your energy chasing the ball, and occasionally take a shot, you will still start every game regardless of how bad you perform" they can press like him.
Another thing which he is terrible at that uses the eye test is his decision making and final ball. 80% of the time he simply makes the wrong decision, and ruins promising moves and counters. I frankly don't think this is something you can easily improve either.
Now lets compare him with other youngsters in his position. Some may be a few years older but bear with me
Mount vs Buendia
Mount vs odegaard
Mount vs Nkunku
Mount vs Dani Olmo
(Olmo only had cl and a small buliga sample size so I used only cl numbers)
Mount vs Harit
Mount vs Lo Celso
Mount vs Ndombele
Mount vs Ceballos
Mount vs Aouar
Mount vs Phil Foden(LMAOOOOO)
Mount vs Kulusevsky
We could target any of these young gems, and already have a better player in his position with Havertz, and another one in Ziyech. His value is quite high, there is still time to con a club into paying 40 million, but I'd frankly pay someone money to take him.
We have a very bright future and have a strong core capable of winning trophies. Lets not waste it trying to accommodate Mount and an amateur manager who has shown nothing that says he will lead us to glory.
