I'm trying to think how I'd do it, and I don't think there's a direct translation of the word "shitshow", but I'm leaning towards something like "debate similanjiao" which literally translates to "debate what cock" and would mean "what the fuck debate was that"

Or maybe "wah that debate rabak sia" to mean that the debate was out of control (in a negative way), or "that debate, damn jialat" to mean that it the debate was a super disaster.
