7 "warm" takes on the #debates
in @TheHillOpinion
1/ There are just 7% undecided. Maybe a few percent are wobbly on their candidate. Without a major gaffe, at most 10% of the public is moveable. #Trump #Biden

1/ There are just 7% undecided. Maybe a few percent are wobbly on their candidate. Without a major gaffe, at most 10% of the public is moveable. #Trump #Biden
2/ #Trump drove the agenda & didn’t allow #Biden much room to get in his talking points. Brought into the debate points that Chris Wallace wasn’t going to do. #debates

3/ #Trump refusal to specifically state he would accept the results of the election (and do it in an emphatic stand-alone way) hurt him a lot. His unwillingness to accept losing even in concept will be used against him – and likely to strong effect #debates

4/ By stonewalling the #SupremeCourt packing issue #Biden allows #Trump to defuse the issue. Fair is fair, if Biden is going to make hay on the rush to appoint, he should answer on the packing issue & name an #RBG replacement to discuss. #debates

5/ I don’t think promising $20 billion to Brazil to save the Amazon rain forest helps #Biden. Too many people in the US need financial assistance today. #Trump #debates

6/ Moving to the center by opposing #DefundthePolice and #GreenNewDeal should help, but could be a problem with the base & #Biden did say the GND “pays for itself” – sounds like some flip-flopping. #debates

7/ Fundamentally, #Trump mostly blunted #Biden, recovered ground on #SupremeCourt and the tax issue. But he needs to make up a lot of ground & offer a positive vision for his next term. He cannot get re-elected by just edging out Biden in the debates. #debates
