Pictured: NAC staff wear orange shirts today for #OrangeShirtDay.
Founded by the Orange Shirt Society in Williams Lake BC, #OrangeShirtDay is meant to encourage & support community reconciliation events & activities and to create awareness of the individual, family and community intergenerational impacts of the Indian Residential School system.
We at Indigenous Theatre at the NAC encourage you to read the 94 calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and to ask yourselves: what action can I take to support survivors and their families of this terrible legacy.
By wearing an Orange Shirt on September 30th you stand with the survivors, because Every Child Matters.
