So, I have a bit if info for those doing this about the difference between the PS1 and 3DS versions. So, @dragonquaustin
@NerdbergReview
@DragonQuestFM
Here is that info. 1/?
For easy use the abbreviations for this.
Dragon Warrior 7(DW7)PS1
Dragon Quest 7(DQ7)3DS

The major differences in the versions are in the town building minigame and the class system. First the town. 2/?
DW7 has the immigrant town. In various places, you can find folks that want to move somewhere. Once you have finished the 3rd set of tablets, you can tell them to go to the town that is starting there. As the population grows, the town does too. 3/?
Also, depending on what kind of folks you recruit for the town can change what it turns into. For ex.
Lots of merchants = big bazaar
Priests/Nuns=church town
Thugs/Bar workers=super casino
In DQ7, the town is used for streetpass mainly and only has monsters in it. 4/?
Class system.
DW7 has a more permanent skill learning system. Any skill you learn, you get to keep no matter what class you are. This makes it incredibly easy to make a super powerful party if you know what you are doing. 5/?
Here are some of the best advanced classes to go for early.

TeenIdol/SuperStar=Bard/Troubadour+Dancer+GoofOff/Jester
Paladin=Fighter/Martial Artist+Priest
Pirate= Sailor+Thief

Each of these classes get very useful skills. The 1st gets Hustle dance, a multitarger free heal. 6/?
Pirate and Paladin get Thin Air, possibly the best attack in the game! It hits all enemies. It is free to cast. Very few enemies are immune to it. Still does good damage against those resistant to it. And it scales with your level! It is easy mode for random fights! 7/7
