I read Titus 2-3 this morning. There’s some tough contextual interpretation needed regarding gender & slavery, but read it simply for the teaching about how we, as followers of Jesus, are too speak & act & you’ll find a shockingly stark difference from what we saw last night.
Both candidates profess faith in Jesus. Did we see any of this last night? Will we, in our conversations today, model it? Here’s some highlights:

“Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.”
“Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned.”
“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.”
“Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.”

Lord, help us.
