We are in contact with the beneficiary who transferred the funds to Gyro and are in the process of writing a full report.

The campaign was originally made and ran by @/JOTAROISM, HOWEVER in early August, he grew suspicious of Gyro and cut ties, leaving Gyro in control of the GFM.
We think Jota was negligent and should have issued refunds at that point, but we understand he was afraid of retaliation+

from Gyro's friends and followers.
We're disappointed in him for ghosting us, but we support his decision to deactivate.
Do NOT seek Jota out to pester or harass him! Allow him to learn from his mistakes and move on.
Do NOT seek out or name ANYONE who was involved in the GFM, +

including any previously mentioned users. Let them move on.

Quick ref: Gyro went by @/crackheadgyro on an old account. As of Sept 16th Gyro uses he/him pronouns.

In late June/early July, Gyro made a series of concerning tweets that caused his friend to reach out to help him.

From the beginning, this campaign was not well run. Partly because the organizer was an inexperienced minor, but also because Gyro was barely updating anyone on his situation.
Gyro only made a few updates on his twitter, but was never transparent about what the money was +

going to be used for, and his story would sometimes change or have new additions.
We're now learning that SEVERAL people were suspicious of the campaign, but didn't speak up or ask questions in fear of being attacked by Gyro's friends and followers.

On July 20th Gyro messaged the beneficiary (who was not involved in the campaign) and asked them to transfer the funds, which they did on August 3rd/4th.
Originally, Gyro claimed that his parents found out about the GFM, and prevented him from collecting the funds, however he +

remained vague enough that different people I spoke to had different ideas of what happened.
Many people were under the impression the money NEVER made it to Gyro, INCLUDING Jotaroism himself.
The money DID make it to Gyro, but it's been stuck in his bank.

CONTRADICTIONS / LIES

Here is Gyro ADMITTING (on Sept 23rd) to lying about many things.
However, he never specified what things, so we'll be going through everything we brought up in our original threads, and then addressing other things.

Gyro has made tweets claiming he lives in different countries/timezones, however both mods are CONFIDENT Gyro DOES live in India.
His draft tweeting claim was likely another lie.
He tweeted pics of a dog that doesn't belong to him w/o the owner's permission.

Gyro claims his father is abusive and found out his sexuality by going through his phone, while in a previous tweet he claimed his parents were open minded.
Gyro claims he misspoke and was only talking about his mother in the previous tweet, and his father is abusive.

In his GFM Gyro claimed he was banned from future exams, so we questioned how he was taking an engineering exam
He claimed that on Sept 18th he won his case, however he was studying for the NEET exam, applied for the CBSE compartment exams, and took the JEE all BEFORE Sept 18th.

Lying about being on a ventilator + lying about injuries

Ultimately, there is no way for us to prove or disprove Gyro was attacked.
Gyro claims the injuries "Melon" wrote about in the letter are correct, but he ALSO claims Melon had NO contact with him, his sister, or his mom.

If Gyro ran away in JUNE, then nearly everything related to his GFM was a LIE because he wasn't living at home like he claimed.
And HOW was he allowed a phone in a psych ward?

If Gyro TRULY ran away from an abusive family, and that's not a lie, then WHY make up everything else??
Why lie about exams, why lie about his living situation, why lie about injuries, etc? How can we even believe you ran away when you've lied about being MURDERED?

TLDR @gyrolyne ran a SCAM by taking advantage of inexperienced teenagers who were unfamiliar with running a GFM or handling money.
He knew they would believe everything he said, and also knew they would be too afraid to speak up if they didn't. Gyro was a popular account +

with several popular friends, some of whom have incited and participated in harassment before.
We feel the need to emphasize that Gyro didn't get away with this bc everyone believed his lies, he got away with this bc those who saw through them were TOO AFRAID to speak up.

Again, Gyro's GMF contains LIES, making it a SCAM.
But he still claims he is an abuse victim in need of help. If you believe that Gyro still needs the money, then we see no problem with not requesting a refund. If you don't believe it though and would like a refund, +

We deleted our previous threads to protect the identities of people who no longer wish to associate with Gyro. We'll be uploading censored screencaps soon.
We're also currently compiling everything into a google doc.

This thread's goal was to only focus on the GFM, however ex-friends of Gyro's have spoken out about manipulative and inappropriate sexual behavior from him. We'll be linking those at the end of the thread, and adding on as people feel comfortable speaking out.
