This, amongst others is a very popular line that we've heard being used at guys for them to stop ogling/cat calling a lady.
This line disgusts me, because in saying this, we reduce the identity of a girl to being someone's mother.. 1/

or sister with no identity of her own self. On top of which, it forces the guy to imagine his sister to be at the receiving end of his actions for him to stop making a girl feel uncomfortable
Today, we see another such incident gain traction, one out of thousands gain traction,2/

try and look at rape not as one action, but as years of ignorance towards objectionable behaviour such has objectification, staring etc. Raise your voice in support for the Hathras case, but also try and be more aware of the tiny red flags around you; don't ignore them laugh 3/

them off, instead call them out with the sternest of words. Make the society a little safer each day, not for someone's mother or sister, but for women. 4/4
