this has just reminded me of the time that brexit guy tipped a milkshake over himself for attention https://twitter.com/Telegraph/status/1311227368489529346
see this is a thing with the ~civility~ culture war footsoldiers. they spend their time obsessively searching out that one nasty comment from a fake account with 2 followers, scrolling right past all the rightful criticism in a desperate quest to pretend to be the victim.
(charitably assuming The Calls Are Not Coming From Inside The House, natch)
it is quite remarkable that despite all the tools twitter has implemented to make it an echo chamber for the blue ticks, they go searching out that one rude tweet because they really can't take being told they're a racist so want to burn the whole thing down.
I mean fuckin hell, no idea how these famous people are seeing rude tweets unless they're seeking it out, I'm on vanilla twitter and I see very few nasty replies because I preemptively mute bald men and people with their favourite football team in their bio.
update to this thread, it appears that the brexit guy who tipped a milkshake on himself for attention was also a war criminal who shot an unarmed civilian in NI
