the usb domain is at 100 mhz, the rx/tx domain is at 125 mhz, so you *have* to do bit packing/unpacking to go from 24-bit rx/tx <-> 32-bit usb otherwise the domains would just never work
that's ~358 MiBps in the rx/tx domain and *absolute max* ~381 MiBps in the USB domain,,, ugh
or in Mbps, 3000 Mbps in the rx/tx domain and *absolute max* 3200 Mbps in the USB domain
maybe it isn't *really* that bad? 25 MBps = 200 Mbps of leeway does sound like quite a bit
