You may think I support Trump. No. I'm just not in a cult, have strong grassroots political roots & see the Democrats for what they are: the Bourgeoisie.

My dislike for Trump isn't close to my disappointment in the Democrats.

They've abandoned the working class, LGBT & women.
I'm a Libertarian Marxist Feminist. A political scientist. I'm anti-war. The Democrats are not what they were. If I were in the US, honestly I'd not vote for either party and would be Independent & campaign for electoral reform.

So let's put that one to rest shall we?
I love American politics. I study it closely. Final year thesis was on it. The 'culture wars'/US domination on the internet has informed a large portion of my work.

My never-finished book says that we cannot talk properly about the internet in isolation from US Imperialism.
I study and comment on this stuff as an analyst, first and foremost. But any praise or concession to Trump has you accused of being a supporter, because the blood sport that is US Politics has no tolerance for loving the game without joining a team.
Yes, my politics and political values are deeply held. I can back all of it. Which is why I am confident in praising Trump when he deserves praise, and denouncing him when he needs denouncing.
But, like many others in my situation - having been booted out of a team for daring to have a drink with people in other team colours, I am trying to warn the last remaining lefties that you are WRONG about a lot of stuff, and they're lying to you.
I've been active in left-wing politics my entire adult life. Written policy. Stomped the pavement. Supportive of the union. A very loud feminist who has never, once capitulated to what's considered nice, or "leaning in".
It started with Feminism. Where the Trojan Horse of "choice" shifted in meaning. "Choice" was intended as emancipation and liberation of women from male oppression & exploitation, not "choosing between a handful of oppressive options".

Patriarchy & Capitalism are crafty.
eg Choice of whether to stay at home with kids or work, or choice of husband vs not getting married or having kids. False choices through cultural pressure. Technically you have the right to choose, so long as you choose from the acceptable options. Otherwise, pressure.
This 'false choice' has crept up on a grand scale, where all of our political choices are so narrowed within US neoliberal and consumer parameters, the US literally don't even know that there is no viable left wing in their politics.

Even the left wing is neoconservative.
Chomsky is the best resource re: Manufacturing Consent. There are hundreds of others, but I always go back to Marx/Engels & Chomsky, plus Materialist Feminists like Delphy/Greer for theoretical basis.
Anyway, my point is that the Democrats are the Bourgeoisie, with Wokism as the new Superstructure. Much like the shifts to capitalist production Marx talked about, the newest shift to tech has created a new 'superstructure': that of the 'socially conscious' billionaire.
Now obviously that's simplistic & a series of essays, but my point is that there is no serious left wing. Just a sanitised, pro-corporate, pro-Pharma, pro-war, pro-Imperialist, pro-surveillance, money-making global propaganda machine that makes a lot of money for a few oligarchs.
I'm just a feminist and a political scientist who likes making jokes and sharing thoughts. Who analyses through various philosophical lenses - including one that is healthily skeptical/critical of US Exceptionalism/Centricism & foreign policy.

And they're both fucking awful.
The "greatest country in the world"™️ narrative might be an assumption if you have grown up with that, but unfortunately for you, the internet is global and you're going to have people who don't swallow that there is any material difference between the 2 parties.
And not only that, that of those 2 major parties, whilst one might traditionally have been the home of tobacco, oil, and the traditional military-industrial complex, the other is more sinister/dishonest: the party of the unholy alliance that is big tech & politico-media complex.
Of course some jack-off can accuse me of 'being a Trump supporter' all they like. Fact is, I am simply applying/developing theory, and see that you're all being manipulated.

Frankly, the fact that Trump even SAID 'big pharma' gave him points for me. Biden? Fuck. Me.
If I had to make a false choice about who was going to fuck me, I'd choose the guy who would at least be honest about it and buy me dinner first.

Not the guy who is pretending he's not going to do the exact same thing.
So, in short, I am not on a team, or have any desire to be a soccer thug.

I am capable of separating my own political views and emotions from analysis, as I have been trained to do that.

I don't have a favourite team, I just love the game and they each have a role to play.
And trust me, if either side came to be the *only* side, that is where tyranny and mass death starts. This is why I oppose Wokism, because it silences dissent. Not its ideas.

So, as uncomfortable as it may be, embrace the opposition, and let them make your ideas stronger.
Also, call me names again, for doing what I have always done, and I will tell you to go fuck yourself.
Also, to sum up this thread. Trump is the President America deserves. Biden is not the lesser of two evils.

He's just evil with a friendly face. Like the tech billionaires who don't twirl their evil moustaches, but rather groom their beards with Fair Trade Organic Balms.
