honestly I don’t even really give a fuck about shipping, I only really have opinions on like three Naruto ships, but goddamn I love Kakaobi so much because the Kakashi/Obito dynamic is just so fascinating idk man

they’re my two favorite characters and their relationship is so nuanced. The way that Kakashi condescends to Obito in childhood but idolizes him in adulthood. The way that Obito resents Kakashi his whole life and yet still always extends a hand to him (good or bad) to join forces

Kakashi is loathe to hurt him but ultimately is willing to kill the adult Obito if it means preserving the memory of the idealized past Obito. In Obito’s last moments, he imagines an alternate reality where Rin is still dead, but Kakashi is by his side as his right hand man.

In the Kakashi vs Obito fight, Obito purposefully avoids stabbing Kakashi in the heart, even though a “mutual kill” like that would’ve been easier for him. And that’s before they make up. Although they grow up to be enemies each one wants to believe in the humanity of the other
