Newly-seated Portland city council member Dan Ryan tonight at PCCEP mtg:

“I am personally affected by the terrorizing I witnessed last night.”

After his N Portland home was disturbed by the LRAD, Ryan was up late witnessing Portland Police attacking people for nothing.
Chloe Eudaly, facing an election against the police’s candidate Mingus Mapps:

“I hear your grief and anger...
It’s absolutely terrifying to witness the protest response...
We have officers acting as though they’re above the law, and they are NOT...
I’ve been in tears tonight.”
Commissioner Hardesty:

“None of us can unsee what we’ve seen.

“It breaks my heart every time I look at the videos.

“It’s gonna take all of us and it’s gonna take sustained pressure. PPB is still making excuses for their unwillingness to hear the public’s voice.”
PPB Asst Chief of Services Frome:

“There are [PPB employees] that know we need to radically change.”
Portland Mayor and PPB Police Commissioner Ted Wheeler:

“I don’t think it’s appropriate to use CS gas in a residential neighborhood.”

PCCEP, our everyday neighbors, put together this moving forum.

It’s not easy for communities to acknowledge horrific acts committed by the powerful, as they happen. Many never get acknowledged.

A credit to Portland’s fortitude.
