Your business, school, neighborhood group, non-profit or church can decide to lean into equality.
It's easy to think we are powerless. This is simply not true. Do not allow the angry men of the world to tell you otherwise.

One decision at a time.
One action at a time.
One conversation at a time.
Nothing changes if you are not willing to make a change.
So what are you willing to do to make a change?

It's a warm web of lies that we can make change through tweets, signing online petitions and buying t-shirts with slogans.
^^^ These things do not make meaningful changes towards equity and justice.

THEY AREN'T LISTENING. THEY WILL NOT STEP DOWN NICELY.
We are going to have to enact change through our actions and willingness to fight.

Are you a founder?
Investor?
Startup mentor?
You.
Can.
Terminate.
Your.
Contract.
With.
Carta.

Start there. Only financially support organizations that reflect the values you wish to see in the world. This includes how they treat their employees, contractors and biz partners.
What's next?

Good. I'm ready too.
You know that whisper network that is happening in your business, community, ecosystem? You can bring it into the light.
There's a reason justice is "served" - it's because someone else BRINGS IT.

Get the proof.
Gather together with others.
Bring the evidence to the powers that be.
Your Board.
Your CEO.
Your Boss.
^ Now if you are one of those things, time for you the STEP THE EFF UP.

It's not easy.
It's work.
It's why I said advancing equality is boring AF.
Writing biting tweets IS OBJECTIVELY MORE FUN.
Too bad. The world needs change.

- Fire perpetrators of sexism.
- Fire perpetrators of racism.
- Fire anyone who harming your people.
Let me say it loud and clear for you:

Do not shy away from pointing out behavior that doesn't serve your relationship.
Think of it this way: Sexist and racist words stand between you and closeness with that person.
But how?

"What are you hoping to achieve by using that language with me?"
^ 9 out of 10 people will be silent.
You can follow it up with: "Your language offends me. I need you to rethink it."

You can be part of a solution.
If you're ready to advance equality, you can read my blog post and share this thread.
Thanks
