Sorry if I’ve ever aggressively insisted on paying for your meal/coffee/goods while we’re out together.

I’m learning it’s a coping strategy so later, when I’m spiraling, I can say, “Welp, at least I wasn’t TOTALLY useless to them!”
Things I have insisted on paying for when I was not even remotely prompted to:

$60 of sushi platters
Someone else’s work pants
A college textbook for someone’s math class
A gift for someone else’s mother
Someone’s plane ticket to go to Burning Man
So many coffees
Turns out if you catch me in just the right situation, my anxiety regarding my value to you can result in BIG MONEY AND FREE DINNER FOR YOU
I cannot tell you how many people have met me for food, then been surprised to learn that I do not go Dutch, for the sake of my own mental health

I am working on this
