If you read past the headline, this op/ed by Prof. Michael McConnell—a leading figure on the socially conservative wing of the conservative legal movement—strikes me as quite significant https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/09/29/amy-coney-barrett-wouldnt-transform-court-more-than-any-other-justice/
McConnell is clearly trying to stave off court-packing to keep the soon-to-be 6-justice conservative SCOTUS majority.
But his big move isn’t to assure Democrats Alito and Thomas may die under a President Biden, though he did do that

Prof. McConnell’s big move is using his influence as a leading socially conservative legal luminary, to pretty much tell Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Roberts not to strike down Roe when they get the chance because it’ll be disastrous for Republicans:

This is the man who, as a federal judge, was a magnet for socially conservative and ambitious young law clerks like Sen. Josh Hawley, who is now saying any nominee must pass his anti-Roe litmus test
So yeah it’s a big deal that this dude is pretty much telling Barrett and her key soon-to-be allies on SCOTUS to keep Roe alive for the sake of their movement’s electoral prospects and court majority
