Before 2010, I had not read any Cornell Woolrich. Or at least I wasn& #39;t aware that I had--maybe some stories in anthologies.

Reading the new Centipede editions of his work has been one of my many reading pleasures this decade.

I think I might have seen some of the movies ages ago, but not since I& #39;ve read the books. So while you guys are killing yourselves watching the debate, I& #39;m going to watch this instead:
Well, looking at Twitter, I definitely made the right choice. That movie was pretty good, especially the first half. I could have done without the soppy final scene, though.

Here& #39;s the write-up that reminded me I needed to watch it: https://ryanharveyauthor.com/2020/08/09/phantom-lady-1944-emergence-film-noir/">https://ryanharveyauthor.com/2020/08/0...
And, since I& #39;m not yet ready to deal with the real world, let& #39;s stick with the theme and roll right on into this...
I know fashions change, but this threw me. No one else in the first 10 minutes of this movie looks like they are either a kid wearing their dad& #39;s suit, or in an exaggerated parody.
I friggin& #39; love Peter Lorre.
OK, that was definitively the better movie, even if they did wimp out a bit on the ending.

Two good movies, Peter Lorre and Elisha Cook, Jr. And maybe I have a little crush on Ella Raines now. (I wonder if I can find this "Enter Arsène Lupin" flick she also did in 1944?)
