Let’s just get this out there. If you look at the Trump v Biden logo that 20/20 is using at the moment, there is a fundemental issue with how this is setting up the brains of voters. Here’s a fun, rare non-religious, thread:

To begin the scowling side view faces looking at one another, split color schemes, and the very title, “Trump vs. Biden: The Main Event” sets this up as a UFC pay-per-view fight.

Why does that matter? Well what does a UFC fight entail at its core? Simplified it is a contest with a winner and loser. Someone’s team will win, and someone’s will lose. And this is exactly what has caused deep divisions amongst Americans.

Ultimately the presidential race is about the American people (singular), and a UFC fight is about fandoms (plural) These are different goals and have different outcomes.

In truth, this thread isn’t about the debate, but a clear expression of the media’s weaponization of politics to divide a divided country more. It’s this kind of spiritually violent rhetoric that lead to Donald Trump being president, and will lead to a proliferation of hate.
