With Lacazette's Arsenal career looking like it's coming to an imminent end, I will be discussing the most likely candidate's for his long term replacement.
a thread.
Gabriel Martinelli
-------------------
Gabriel Teodoro Martinelli Silva is a young Brazilian prodigy, who signed in the region of £6 million in the summer of 2019 from Brazilian club Ituano. Martinelli has made 26 senior appearances for Arsenal, scoring 10 goals and assisting 4.
First we have his Spatial Awareness. Martinelli is already blessed with good spatial awareness as well as unbelievable speed. Either playing as a centre-forward or a left-winger, Martinelli can both attack the space and make a room for himself. Making him extremely dangerous.
Just as important his attacking ability, his defence is also top notch. The youngster is very keen to help the defence. Mainly, he likes to press the opponents up to their penalty box; even closing down the goalkeeper. Such aggression is useful.
I will be doing 3 points for each 3 candidates, so next for Martinelli is his great nose for goals. Martinelli is very active inside the box and constantly makes sharp movements to make himself free from his marker. He also makes curved runs to stay away from the defence's eyes.
Odsonne Edouard
------------------
Edouard is a 22 year old French Striker who currently plays for Celtic in the Scottish first tier. He's currently linked with a move to the Emirates for around £25-30 million pounds. He has currently made 14 appearances in all comps, scoring 13.
First we have his ability on the ball. For his size, he is impressively good on the ball and with his feet. With his quick feet, he finds it easy to create an opening to shoot or deliver a pass to his team mates. This is good for a striker as it adds versatility to his game.
Secondly we have his consistent scoring in the league. So far this season he has scored 4 goals in 5 games. Also adding his 37 goals in 43 games last season, it is proven that he's a consistent striker that the team can rely on every game. This is what I feel Arsenal is lacking.
Finally for Edouard, we have his physicality. Edouard is a big presence up top and he isn't a player to be bullied. It could play very well with Aubameyang and Pepe playing off him with quick passes and using his strength and pace to get into the lethal places in the box.
Eddie Nketiah
---------------
Nketiah is a 21 year old England International currently in the Arsenal first team. He started in the Chelsea youth but made a free transfer to the u18s in the 15/16 season. He's been out on loan once to Leeds. He has scored 2 goals in 5 appearances.
First for Nketiah we have his natural grit to score goals. Just like Ian Wright he always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Whether it's getting on the end of a ball drilled in or finding space on the edge of the box, Nketiah always seems to be in the right place.
Secondly we have his finishing. When Nketiah makes room for himself he is dangerous. If he has a clear shot, 9 out of 10 times he is finishing it. With him being so young he is going to grow even better. I can see an young Ian Wright in this kid and it is extremely exciting.
Finally, Nketiahs leadership. Whenever he comes on the field, you can just sense the whole attack change and listen. We have seen him taking and telling players up top to do certain things thst eventually benefit the team. To have these leadership qualities so young is amazing.
