I am glad that Black people are not a monolith because when I hear certain things it only makes me consider someone else's point of view. I heard a librarian say that they are a librarian that happens to be Black. In my mind I am Black and I happen to be a librarian.

In and out of the library space, I am Black. In and out of this profession, I am Black. People see that I am Black before they know that I am a librarian even when I have my hair in a bun and even when I got my fresh cardigan on. I had to put that in there real quick, hehe.

Don't get me wrong I love what I do but it is NOT all that I do. You feel me?! I understand what the librarian was saying, my experience is different. This #Thread has me pondering #librarylife
